Why we use it
It sounds boring, but water is actually one of the most important ingredients in many skincare formulas. It dissolves active ingredients; it helps certain ingredients penetrate deeper into the skin; it allows for elegant formulas ranging from lightweight hydrating serums to rich non-greasy creams. Any formula with water in it also requires broad-spectrum preservatives to prevent microbial growth.
