Why we use it
It’s important to differentiate between squalene and squalane. Squalene (with an E) is found naturally in our bodies as a precursor to important compounds like sterols. Squalane (with an A) is a hydrogenated version of this oil, making it stable and suitable for skincare formulas. It’s a moisturizing but non-greasy oil that’s great even for those with oily or blemish-prone skin. Stratia’s squalane is derived from sugarcane.
