Why we use it
Polyacrylate crosspolymer-6 is a key component of Soft Touch AHA’s formula. To get a thick serum or gel texture, you need a thickener; however, most thickeners only function in a narrow pH range (right around pH 7 or neutral). To ensure the mandelic acid functions at its peak performance, Soft Touch has a pH of around 3.4 - much too low for most thickeners, but not for PC-6. It gives Soft Touch its lovely serum consistency without interfering with the formula.
