Why we use it
Metal ions (individual metal atoms) can find their way into skincare formulas and wreak havoc by causing spoilage, breaking down actives, and disrupting emulsions. Disodium EDTA is what’s know as a chelating ingredient, meaning it bonds to those metal ions and neutralizes them. Chelators are a crucial part of any water-based skincare product.
